SIM-free Nokia 808 PureView up for pre-order in Italy, expected to launch in May
Eager to tinker with Nokia’s 41-megapixel cameraphone ahead of everyone else (especially if you’re based in North America)? Then it looks like you might want to take a trip to Italy next month, as online retailer NStore.it is now accepting pre-orders for the 808 PureView ahead of its “expected” May availability. Il costo? €599, which works out to be about 0 — not cheap for a SIM-free, Symbian Belle-powered device, but at least the option’s there for the mobile photography connoisseurs. Alternatively, keep an eye out for that Lumia PureView unicorn.

Samsung to offer flexible displays in 2012, challenges Nokia to a twist contest
Flexible displays? Samsung’s got ‘em, too. A few days after Nokia showed off its Kinetic Device prototype under the blue lights of Nokia World, Samsung made mention of its own plans to unleash some bendy mobile devices on the world. A spokesperson for the company was scarce on details, but noted that the flexible displays are targeted for 2012. The technology, which was showcased at this year’s CES, will initially be incorporated into handsets, with tablets following down the road.

Nokia CEO: cheap Windows Phones can come ‘very quickly’
We’d raised our own concerns in interviews with both Stephen Elop and Microsoft’s Aaron Woodman in the past week that Nokia could have difficulty pushing the Windows Phone platform low enough to fill the holes left by Symbian’s departure in the bottom rungs of the market, but the Nokia CEO is making it very clear that he thinks that won’t be a problem. In a talk with Finnish journalists on Friday, Elop said that it has become “convinced” that it can hit “a very low price point” and do it “very quickly,” a strategy that will be key to converting significant swaths of Symbian market share into Windows Phone market share without losing it to other manufacturers or platforms. Of course, something tells us the leaked design concept (pictured right) doesn’t represent the types of hardware Nokia has in mind for those low price points — but no single device or market segment is going to take Espoo to the promised land here.

Nokia posts video of Microsoft partnership announcement online
Wow, we have to hand it those Nokia social media types, they’re on top of their game. A mere couple of hours after Stephen Elop and Steve Ballmer took the stage in London, the video of their joint announcement of a Nokia-Microsoft partnership is up and ready for repeated consumption. For those of you just catching up now, Windows Phone 7 is now Nokia’s “principal smartphone strategy,” MeeGo is getting transformed into an experimental “learning” platform, and Symbian… well, maybe you should sit down for this one, Symbian’s being killed off.

Nokia mobile phones & Samsung mobile phones: Amazing handsets, fabulous features
Nokia mobile phones & Samsung mobile phones: Amazing handsets, fabulous features
Nokia and Samsung, the two leading brands of mobile phones assist the users with stylish yet capable handsets. Products from both the houses are provided with the whole lot of upgraded features. Moreover, both the manufacturers pay equal attention on the looks of the gadgets which enhance the style statement of the users. No doubt, both the companies are widely popular among the masses across the globe and the comparison between Nokia mobile phones & Samsung mobile phones yields no result as the products are competent in their own ways. No doubt, both the brands try and come up with efficient products and that too at the affordable prices. Moreover, these smart gadgets ensure all the possible features of calling, messaging, Internet browsing, gaming and imaging but still there are some differences between the devices of the two companies. On one hand, Nokia mobile phones come with user friendly features and even a first time user does not face any difficulty while operating the handset. Not only this, the Nokia phones are known for their large battery backups and sufficient storage capacities. For example, the fitted battery of the Nokia N97 is capable of delivering 9.5 hours GSM talktime, 6 hours 3G talktime, 432 hours GSM stand by time and 408 hours of 3G stand by time. Not only this, the brilliant gadget is equipped with the large internal memory of 32GB which facilitates easy storage of data and files.
On the other hand, Samsung mobile phones attract the users instantly, thanks to stunning looks and fabulous display units. Samsung S8000 Jet can be taken as the perfect example of this as it not only looks gorgeous in it’s black coloured casing but is provided with the large AMOLED resistive touchscreen of 3.1 inches. Moreover, it displays crystal clear images having the high resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Not only this, if we compare the weight of Nokia N97 and Samsung S8000 Jet, then, Samsung product emerges pocket friendly as it weighs 110 grams having the dimensions of 108.8 x 53.5 x 11.9 mm, whereas the weight of the Nokia handset amounts to 150 grams and it measures 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9 mm.
There is no doubt that Nokia mobile phones & Samsung mobile phones are champions in their own ways but as discussed above, still possess some different features and applications. But at the same time, there are a number of similar features which make the handsets all the more popular among the users. To start with, smart phones from both the houses come with built-in high resolution cameras which facilitate still as well as video photography. To ensure well focused and well illuminated images, the handsets support the added advantages of auto focus and flash. Similarly, most of the Nokia as well as Samsung gadgets are provided with the built-in music player, FM radio and interesting embedded games to ensure loads of entertainment. Apart from this, the fabulous mobile phones assist the net savvy people in an effective manner, thanks to built-in web browser or Wi Fi technology. So, the clash of Nokia mobile phones versus Samsung mobile phones does not produce any result as the handsets from both the houses can be called the perfect blend of style and capability.
